Hello my fellow shredders!
First of, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Eid Mubarak to all of you.. Belated that is.. heheh! Well, I really didn’t have much time (and mood) to blog during Ramadhan plus I went for Raya holiday quite early, so I had to delay the wish. Sorry about that. But I hope you had a very good holiday. And.. please accept this Hari Raya Aidilfitri’s gift from me.. Gentaro Satomura’s tab
Enough about Raya, and let’s get into guitar stuffs. After all, that what this blog is all about, ain’t it?
Second of, I’m sorry again to my frequent visitors, for writing this particular entry in English. This is because, we would be expecting new visitors from YouTube community, since I told them that I had the tablature.
Third of.. Welcome to GuitarDen, dear Youtube friends. I am really glad I could share this tab with you. You are also welcome to use the tab anywhere else. But please, don’t forget to credit this blog, okay? Internet is all about information sharing, mostly for free. But I would really appreciate it if you could repay my work. Not with any amount of money, but with a small link and credit to my blog as a token of your appreciation. Thanks!
And yes, this blog teaches how to play guitar (not the best there is) in Malay. So if you are looking for a guitar blog in English.. you can find it at.. umm.. not sure where.. but you can always google it! Heheh!
For those who has been wondering who Gentaro is, he’s the guitarist from a Japanese Metal Band called Storm Riders (anyone has the mp3s? please email me.. heh!). Gentaro was one of the guest guitarists in Young guitar Magazine issue January 2007. His amazing demo was uploaded in YouTube and Stage6 sometimes ago and received good reviews from the viewers, much like Canon by JerryC and Funtwo, only Gentaro is a professional guitarist.
I’ve been searching for Gentaro’s tab eversince the first time I watched it, but to no avail. So far only jonnybravo gets it right (and he even puts video lessons at YouTube). I even went as far as emailing Gentaro himself and Storm Rider.. heheh! But of course, I didn’t expect Gentaro to reply my emails. So, that’s when I decided that I should tab it myself..
Now, about Gentaro Satomura demonstration lick. It’s not one-hundred-percent correct. I would welcome if anybody would do the correction.
Man.. I couldn’t play it at full speed!! I can only manage to play SOME of the lick at full speed, and really struggling to cope while at it! I can only get comfortable to play it at 80% – 90% of the full speed. Blast them lazy fingers!! Well.. more reason to start practicing again! Hopefully you guys could play it as fast as Gentaro, and don’t forget to post your videos in YouTube!
And.. I want to say that Gentaro plays it in D major scale, like most neo-classical licks, but he changes scale here and there. Hmm.. so I’d just say.. he plays it in D.
What else? Oh.. the tab is in Guitar Pro 5 format. So if you have other version of Guitar Pro, or you don’t have the software at all, I include the midi file so you could import it to your GP software, as well as the PDF file for reference. This is because the timing would be off sometimes if you import a midi file to Guitar Pro software.
Here are the links. Knock yourself out..
Orait guys, that’s all there is to it. Until then.. ROCK ON!!
